It’s been well over 20 years since we’ve purchased or sold a house and I needed someone we could trust to guide us through the process. She stayed in touch with me as I was going through the long process of cleaning out the house without it feeling like she was applying pressure.
When the house was at long last emptied, she came out and gave us suggestions to help with the sale. I trusted that she would not suggest anything that she, herself, would not do if it was her own home. She believes in spending money where it is wise to do so but not at the expense of sinking money into the house when there is insufficient ROI.
Colleen walked us through every step of the process so we would know what to expect. No surprises.
I appreciated Colleen’s use of her network to get the carpet replaced. I really had no interest in picking it out – I wasn’t going to live there! I asked her to “just pick it,” and she worked with a contractor to measure and order it. All we needed to do is pay. EASY.
My logic is that she knows how to do her job, so just do it. And that she did. She also referred us to a couple of cleaners to do the deep clean, and we were thrilled with the one we chose. Another way she made it easy.
Colleen is not a list-it-and-wait type of person. She invested many hours running out to the home to check on things for us – opening windows to let in the fresh Spring air, running a quick vacuum through before a showing, and tending to every detail so we didn’t have to. Easy. The photos! She uses a company that did some virtual staging. I can’t tell you how many people commented on how cool that was. She brought some items to add to various places in the home, such as a bench in the entry and a few decorations along the way. It really is all of the little touches and that attention to detail that I knew she would do, but she exceeded those expectations.
As with any real estate sale, there can be bumps in the road, but Colleen was our shock absorber. We hardly felt a thing, and she skillfully followed up on every detail until we reached a successful conclusion! CLOSED!
